This salt AND pepper box is perfect to keep next to your cook top. The swivel works perfectly. It is large enough to hold a good amount of salt and pepper. The black marble is grained and perfect on my white counter.

I received a swivel top salt box as a birthday gift. Right away, you know this is going to be something special. The weight of the marble is very nice, and makes it have a very "rich" feel to it. This is LARGE too, larger than you might guess from the photo. At 5" diameter and a bit over 2" tall this thing is more than a handful. This won't work very well if you plan on placing it on the back of your stove, where the edge isn't very wide, but I don't think your supposed to use it there anyway. Mine sits on my dining room table and we use it as we would a salt mill or shaker.

The swivel on the top is very sturdy and I am sure will last for years. The lid slides cleanly with no problems. On the bottom are four felt pads so your furniture does not get scratched.

The two compartments are LARGE and I won't have to refill this thing very often. For mine I have coarse kosher in one side and fine sea salt in the other. Who could ask for more? This is heaven for me...Read more

This salt box holds a sufficient amount, so I don't have to constantly fill it. It looks beautiful on my new granite countertop. I am very pleased with this purchase.
