Product Review

Chef'n continues its revolutionary one-handed design with the Olle grinders. Along with this innovative feature, the Olle grinders offer a sophisticated, sleek form with counter and tabletop appeal. Filled with a fresh Global Pepper Medley, the Olle pepper grinder flavors meals with a quick squeeze. The patented GrindTune lever on the base adjusts the coarseness of the grind while the top of the grinder can easily be removed for a quick and simple refill. Black and clear acrylic exterior; sharp stainless steel rasp that stays sharp and will not rust.

Really useful when working over a pot or with raw meat. However, it did not survive the load of peppercorns it shipped with. The grinding mechanism was pretty weak after 4 months of moderate use and was only producing small amounts of ground pepper per squeeze. Just shy of seven months, the plastic shattered near the base and the entire bottom of the grinder landed in our food with a spectacular explosion of peppercorns.

I got this as a replacement for the taller, skinnier Chef'n Bistro Combo grinder Chef'n Bistro Combo Grinder, Black and Clear, which i loved and lost somewhere. I don't salt food while cooking (hbp), so when looking for a new one, i wanted just pepper. The handle on this is not as pictured--wish it was--working this handle is sometimes awkward with one-handed use. It fills MUCH more easily than the Bistro. Overall, I'm liking it a lot.
