The best just got better. Refreshed and revamped, the updated PepperBall, by Chef'n, features the same iconic look and one-handed design of the 1995 original, only better. Cleaner lines, reinforced handles and improved functionality – what’s not to love? It has an adjustable grind mechanism with a steel rasp and the twist off top makes refilling, quick and easy. PepperBall comes ready to use; filled with fresh peppercorns. Black finish.

This is a vast improvement over the earlier model. However, after a time the handle can pop out of alignment if squeezed too fully, this is caused by the lever that pushes the grinding plate rod disengaging from the socket atop the rod. Not fully squeezing the rod seeems to avoid this problem. To realign the lever with the rod socket, unscrew the lid, allow the handles to open and then tighten the lid.

We liked the idea of the Chef'n Pepper Ball - an inviting display of peppercorns ready for any occasion. It calls out for fresh ground pepper on any item brought to the table whether that be soup or salad, fish or chicken, or anything else in-between. Unfortunately, it was not long before a stray peppercorn got stuck in the grinding mechanism, and a squeeze of the handle sent the Pepper Ball into oblivion. Too bad. They should improve the quality, and then this would be a must-have product for any household.

I bought this a month ago and now it is broken and useless. The bottom is held on by a few dots of glue and after a month it just fell off. Avoid this product.
