CHEF'N Salt Ball One-Handed Salt Grinder Without Stand, SGB-320

Amazon.com Review

Handy and cute as a bunny (it even has eyes), this Salt Ball grinder is one kitchen gadget that will always stay within reach. The padded Savvy-Grip "ears" make cracking coarse sea salt a simple one-hand operation. Set the grinding dial to one of five settings, from coarse to fine, and squeeze away--freshly ground salt makes a world of difference in taste. To refill the ball, which comes full of salt, use the stand that doubles as a funnel. The patented ceramic grinding mechanism won't corrode like metal does after long exposure to salt. Measuring 6 inches tall, the Salt Ball bunny hops to the task of seasoning either at the stove or at the table. --Ann Bieri

This nifty gadget allows me to grind salt with one hand as I cook. And, it's a fun addition to a dining table with its very contemporary rather whimseical design. The handles that you grip are padded thus ergonomically friendly and enable gripping without slipping. A dial selector on the base of the salt ball provides options for coarseness of grind, and it comes equipped with a refull funnel. Plus, it comes filled with salt. This is one grind I'll never mind! Thanks, Chef'n!- Gail Cooke

Very easy to grind, holds a lot of pepper, and well made. I should think that especially for an older person, or someone with carpal tunnel, or weak hands, this would be wonderful. We are very happy with it, and I'd be happy to buy more. The only caveats of this thing are: it feels, while not cheaply made, not as sturdy as it could have been, and though ours is fine, ti's only six months old. I don't know how long it will really last - maybe five years? Also, while we love the capacity, that capacity comes at a price in terms of table real estate - it takes up a fair amount of room. But it grinds peper into nice, largish chunks, to let the true pepperiness through, and I like it better than our wooden grinders. Great stuff!

I really like these Chef-n Salt and Pepper grinders. It's easy to grind one-handed with them, and I like the control it offers for the amount of spice I grind.
