The problem is, it doesn't grind the coarse salt it comes with. Tried a less coarse Hawaiian salt, still no go. Maybe it would work for plain table salt if you live in a damp climate as I do.

I ordered both a salt and a pepper. Had an older set and loved it. One oe the ears broke on this. And a week later the other broke. Total junk.

The salt and pepper grinders are great. They look good and the size of the grinds can be adjusted from coarse to fine, which is very handy.
