These shakers hold plenty of salt & pepper and they are handy as heck to have on the stovetop (but they do get warm if you the oven's on) to season food with. Haven't had any problems with leaks. Regular salt (not coarse or Kosher) works best--you'll get no clogs with it.
Wash and Dry these very good,

Mine are fine, arrived fine, nothing broke. It is odd that one rubber stopper is made a bit different and a bit larger than the other. Not sure why that is but I don't care, they both fit. I washed these out by hand and noticed there is some left over ceramic stuff inside. I could place my little finger in a paper towel, to try and wipe out some of the excess water. Therefore, I washed them several times and let them dry out for a couple of days. If you have a dish washer, the job of first clean may be easier than my task. They are of course, stove top, to be used when cooking and normally need a heavier amount than simply shaking onto food on your plate. However, I do use mine often at the table and I don't find they pour out that heavy. The salt of course pours out heavier than the pepper. If you tend to use a lot of pepper on your food like I do, you will find yourself using these as table shakers also.
