I was intially excited to have received this sugar dispenser- it has a simple and attractive design, and the concept of dispensing a limited amount of sugar with each pour was great. However, I noticed that there was not a tight seal with the twist cap (and even looking at the edge there were areas with gaps where sugar can fall through). Maybe I have a defective one, and maybe this would not be an issue if I used larger grain sugar, but with the standard white sugar that many of us use, this dispenser leaks from the sides when you set it upright after a pour. It also leaks a significant amount of sugar that has accumulated over the inside edge of the cap when you unscrew it to refill. I'm a bit disappointed, since it is otherwise such an attractive dispenser. I am returning it back to Amazon.

I believe the 2-star review was on a different product in the line, as this sugar dispenser is great. It's about seven inches tall, doesn't feel "cheap," and holds a convenient amount of sugar. It takes semi-frequent refilling (especially if you're a regular coffee drinker) but totally beats dipping a wet spoon into a big tub of sugar every time.

I almost didn't buy this dispenser based on the other review that states it "leaks". Mine is fine, doesn't "leak" at all. The sugar is released in "spurts", meaning it does not continue disbursing while tipped. It is necessary to re-right the dispenser and then tip it again to get additional portions of sugar. The dispenser has a nice shape and is of good quality. I'm very pleased, just what I wanted.
