Olde Thompson Aspen Peppermill and Salt Grinder with Bonus Pepper and Salt

We bought these to replace our old mills that weren't working and to get a matching set that looked nice.

The good:
-The salt mill works fairly well for natural sea salt. Even the gray sticky stuff that typically plugs up mills.
-They are nice looking.

The bad:
- The "chrome top" is colored plastic. It is not chrome
- the top is so smooth that if you have the slightest moisture on your hand it's not very different to turn. (I know, I should have caught that from the picture.)
- the pepper mill barely grinds the peppercorns. Even after tightening the top as much as possible the best we can do is a crush that's about 1/3 of a corn size. Not exactly what we enjoy eating on our foods.

Summary:
If you're looking for a nice salt and pepper mill that will last a long time and works well and on the cheap. Be prepared to spend more. These are certainly the lowest cost in that category, but they are too...Read more

Prompt delivery, well packed, lifetime warranty - use Pink Himalyan Salt in one and variety peppercorns in other one. Sea salt and regular black peppercorns packed as extra with grinders. Was really pleased to find them at Amazon.

Even though the price is great and they look great, the product disappointed in its performance. The pepper grinder grinds it way too course/big and not fine enough for table use (the adjustment knob does not do anything) and both grinders leave a ring of salt and pepper on the table. You can shake the salt grinder and the salt will come out from the bottom, you don't even need to grind it. I would not recommend this product.
