Comment: While I read the dimensions before purchasing, it wasn't until I opened the package that the reality set in. This salt box is a ridiculous size. First of all, from an ergonomic stance. One can barely open the "box" with two hands, let alone one. It is much too large to grasp with one hand and then slide open. One of the prime reasons for having a salt box would be the ease of one-handed operation while cooking and perhaps having the "other hand" doing something else! The other real negative is the amount of salt/pepper it requires to fill it. Way more than one could use in several months! A most impractical product. I'm disappointed in it, and in Paula Deen.

Comment: I am so pleased with this salt box. It is a generous size so I can store plenty of salt and pepper and have no trouble getting my fingers or measuring spoons in and out of it. I live where it is humid year-round and am happy to say that this box provides an excellent seal & insulation. I've had no trouble at all with the salt or pepper clumping together. The box is also very attractive on my kitchen counter.

This salt box works fine. It is somewhat larger than what I wanted but that's ok. It will hold enough salt to last a long time and you can even have two kinds of salt handy, I do! It is a bit too large to use one handed. The salt box is very pretty and looks great on my counter!

Comment: First of all, acacia wood is gorgeous, and a kitchen done with acacia as a focal point always looks chic, therefore, I love this graciously simple salt box which (for me) makes it easy to keep a stash of both sea and kosher salts (which for my bachelor cooking is quite an extensive array).

That being said, all the things people have said about this box being big are true; it is surprisingly large for a salt cellar. I could see where this would be a detrimental aspect when outfitting, say, an apartment kitchen were every bit of space on the counter matters...

All in all, I love it. Paula Deen has made some cute stuff... and I will continue to look to her for classic (and surprisingly classy) kitchenware.

Comment: LOVE the salt box. it is a little larger then what i expected, but it looks great on my counter nonetheless. it will come in handy for my salt and pepper.
