This Atlas 10 inch brass pepper mill is hand made in Greece using the same methods used for the past 300 years with durable all metal bodies and a tool steel grinding mechanism built to last. Atlas mills are the origin of the phrase "pepper grinder", since these mills actually grind the pepper. Common pepper mills only smash the peppercorns, which severely limits the flavor release. The Atlas mill is a unique piece of European tradition that is functionally the best in the world!

I spent well over four hours online and talked to two very good amateur chefs/retired cooks who owned seven and twelve different brands of pepper grinders and both recommended an Atlas pepper mill. Well worth ~$100, grinds exceptionally fine and very fast! Its quite heavy as well. Wasn't really easy to fill (used a funnel) but it holds so much pepper and you need so little when it grinds this fine it doesn't matter. Every time I use it I grin ear-to-ear.
