This Atlas 8 inch copper pepper mill is hand made in Greece using the same methods used for the past 300 years with durable all metal bodies and a tool steel grinding mechanism built to last. Atlas mills are the origin of the phrase "pepper grinder", since these mills actually grind the pepper. Common pepper mills only smash the peppercorns, which severely limits the flavor release. The Atlas mill is a unique piece of European tradition that is functionally the best in the world!

The all-metal construction and rugged, simple durability give you a table centerpiece and a functional grinder at the same time. It takes some fumbling around with to get the grind just how you want it, but hey, it's adjustable however you want. There is no way to get a 'very coarse' grind though. My one gripe is that it is not adjustable enough to serve up a coarser grind of a more 'cracked' pepper consistency. If you want loads of pepper dust, this is it, it will not be replacing my other mill that gives me a coarser grind that I often desire. |
