I got this as a gift three years ago and was mightily impressed by its sleek and elegant appearance. Always impresses my guests when it is on the table. I really recommend buying the 12" version!

The grinding mechanism works very well and can be modified by turning the knob on the top. Has held up all this time and likely will for the next couple of decades, the way it is built! The only irritation is that the opening at the top is relatively small for refilling with peppercorns.

I can't tell you how many cheap peppermills I've owned. You turn the top screw to adjust how fine the grind is and it works fine for a while. Then as it ages the grind setting doesn't seem to be adjustable anymore. Plus when you grind it gets harder and harder to turn. With this peppermill the coarseness setting is dialed in at the bottom of the unit. It has nothing to do with the screw at top. Grinding is smooth, predictable, and even. That's all I want in a peppermill.

Very well made this pepper mill will impress you from the minute you open the box. Nice weight, beautiful finish and the custom grind settings are incredible. You will be very pleased with this item.
