The sugar shaker is a unique design, but its design does not improve its functionality. Moreover, the plastic stopper in the base of the shaker dried out and fell apart very quickly, which obviously makes the shaker completely unusable. I'm in the process of fabricating my own stopper. It seems to me that all the parts for any sugar shaker that costs this much money should last for many, many years.
