I bought this to go along with the Trudeau's Pepper Mill. It is adequate for the dinner table. It does not seem to dispense salt quickly enough for cooking large pots with stews in them. But for single plate applications it is fine.

I would have to say that because of the design, the large flared bottom (creates a lot of shadowing below the mill when in use)and how it needs to be held that it makes it hard to see how much salt is actually being dispensed on your dish/pot/etc.

The mill is just okay. It takes a lot of effort to use this product. Not worth the money. I have a pair of battery powered mills that are 50 times better.
