We have others that we place on the table, but this is the one everyone reaches for because they love the texture of the ground pepper. Eventhough the salt shaker is on top, it is easy to refill without spilling the salt. To refill you unscrew the top silver piece and the salt holder lifts right off. Nice and easy to fill the pepper section because you have a wide opening so less chance of spilling peppercorns everywhere. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: VF by Fresco Acrylic Combo Salt Shaker and Pepper Mill (Kitchen) We really liked this little guy. The grind is fine. Loading salt is a tad awkward, I think my messiness corroded the center metal, but 15 years is fine. We have others but this one is the one that is by the stove or on the table. I'm buying another one.

This review is from: VF by Fresco Acrylic Combo Salt Shaker and Pepper Mill (Kitchen) For the price, this mill seems sturdy enough and grinds the pepper really well. It's easy to adjust from coarse to fine and it's nice to be able to see when it needs to be refilled. The salt cellar on top doesn't make much sense to me, as it seems it would be very messy to use since the top has to be removed to re-fill the pepper cellar. I see no way to remove it without spilling salt everywhere and would greatly prefer to be able to use the entire space for pepper, which I use much more often than salt. As is, I just leave the top empty and store salt separately. The only real complaint I'd have is that mine came in a box that looked to have been used in a game of kick-the-can, and was only half-filled with pepper. I'm thinking it was maybe returned. Actually, I'm trying NOT to think about that possibility.... but otherwise, I'd recommend one of these to anyone. |
