This is only the bottom half of the butter tray but it's important! You can still use the tray without the lid but it looks much prettier with the lid, so I suggest buying it as well. I upgraded my plastic cheap butter dish to this nice expensive butter dish by Villeroy and Boch. I have a set of these dishes and just added to my collection. It's bigger than I expected but works just the same while adding a touch of beauty. I've had many compliments on this piece and I'm planning on getting one for my mother!
