Villeroy & Boch' s Home Elements dishes and accessories have simple, clean lines and are made of neutral materials--white ceramic, stainless steel, and lightly stained wood; in other words, they're made to be used everyday. The body of the Home Elements mill--shaped somewhat like a chess-piece queen--is made of white vitrified porcelain for a durable, strong finish; the handle and inner workings are constructed of long-lasting stainless steel. The grind is adjustable by turning a small, flat knob at the handle joint; tighten clockwise for a finer grind, loosen counterclockwise for coarser. The mill is suitable for grinding either sea salt or peppercorns.

Other table service pieces in the Home Elements collection include butter and margarine dishes, a covered sugar bowl, and several large serving bowls. The Villeroy & Boch Home Elements salt or pepper mill should be washed by hand in warm water with a mild detergent and dried with a soft dishcloth. The mill stands 7 inches tall and has a 2-3/4-inch diameter (3-3/4 inches including the handle). Peppercorns and sea salt not included. --Garland Withers
