The William Bounds milling mechanism (the “grinder”) works in a way that crushes rather than grinds the peppercorns. As a result, the mechanism will never jam or “freeze up,” and because metal is not grinding on metal – as with other mills – the William Bounds mechanism will never wear out. This mill offers three pepper grind settings, coarse, medium, and fine, that are changeable with a twist of the adjustment ring.
