This new one I just bought seems to be nearly identical in all the important parts to the one I have had since '80 or '81--I expect that it will last that long also. My old one isn't worn out, it's just so beat up that it will now fit right in with the camping kitchen gear and the shiny new one will assume the home counter-top station.
When the Amazon warehouse shipped the incorrect item twice due to a labeling error, Amazon issued immediate credit and found alternate vendors for me to choose from to ensure I got the right item without further delay--not their fault, very well handled.
