Ingenious in design, sleekly modern in appearance, this little salt-and-pepper set is right at hand when needed and takes up only a few square inches of space. That makes it ideal for a desktop as well as individual place settings at a dinner party. Slip the narrow pepper shaker out of its nesting place within the salt shaker's circumference, shake, set down, and then use the larger salt shaker. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth. --Fred Brack

The pepper comes out nicely, however.
